shooters in March and 7 in April), the Renegades will be taking a summer
hiatus. Until further notice, no matches are scheduled at this time. In
the meantime, let us know your thoughts and ideas. We will get back to
you with further information as it becomes available.

Howdy Pards!

Well, it's that time of year when the weather is very unpredictable!  If the weatherman is on the mark, this weekend could be nasty. We have posted the complete 2010 match schedule on the website, www.saltriverrenegades.comPlease note that we need volunteers to serve as match directors for the June through October matches.  If no one cowboys up and volunteers, then there will not be a match that month!!  Many hands make light work as the saying goes, so please volunteer to help out!  Nitro Pike has graciously offered to not only be the March match director, but to also serve as our groundskeeper for the season!!  (Way to step up, Nitro!  Thank you!!)  We're pretty sure he won't turn down any helping hands offered up to him!

PASA membership is required to shoot at our matches.  Annual membership dues of $25 each, $50 per family allows access to all of PASA's facilities - quite a steal for access to such a fine range!!  You may send in your dues at any time or you can just hand over the gold pieces at any monthly match.  New recruits – your first match fee is your PASA membership fee of $25 and you shoot the match for free!  (Sorry, does not apply to renewals.)  A member application is posted on our website.  You can also find more information on PASA at their website: www.pasapark.com

Again, please cowboy up and volunteer to be a match director if'n y'all want to keep yer guns a'blazin'!!  The website or the Telegraph will have the most up to date information, so please check there for any changes or cancellations.

Hope to see y’all out on the range!!

June Match Results

Well, it sure did feel like summer this weekend!  But Saturday's heat and humidity didn't stop a few die-hard shooters though!  Seeing how only four showed up to shoot and only three stages could be completed for fear of heat stroke, the Saturday match was deemed for practice only.  (Sawbones Gooty, Red Burns, EE Taft, Newsome - what in the world were you boys thinkin'???)   Sunday was a much better day!!  With milder temperatures and a nice breeze, 10 shooters gathered for a nice morning shoot.  We had two new members join us - Welcome to Colt Ruger and Pathfinder!!  Colt Ruger is a familiar face to many and Pathfinder is a son of Amos Calendar.  (We also would like to say thanks to Pathfinder for his service to our country - he is soon heading east to be stationed at Fort Benning.)   Our TOP GUN of the match was TAQUILA TAB!!!  Congratulations!!!   We had one SHARPSHOOTER - AMOS CALENDAR!  Good shootin' pards!!  Results and photos are posted as usual on the web site (www.saltriverrenegades.com).

Next month's match is our Hawaiian Shoot scheduled for Saturday, July 18th at 4pm.  No decision yet on having a double header that weekend.   Don't forget about our annual Cowboy Cookout scheduled for Saturday, August 22!    More details on both these events will be posted closer to match dates.  Check the website or here on the Telegraph for info.

Hope to see y'all next month!!

June Match Reminder

Howdy y’all!

Just a reminder about the upcoming match this weekend:

We will be having a “double header” weekend - two matches over two days!  The first match will be Saturday, June 27 at 4p.m.  Then on Sunday, June 28, we will shoot a second separate match at 10a.m. Match fee is $12 per day or $20 for both days.  As always, all shooters must attend the mandatory shooter's meeting prior to each match and must also be a PASA member.  Several of us will be bringing our trailers/RVs and camping out Saturday night.  There is primitive camping available at no charge.  Come on out and circle your wagons with us!

NOTE:  With expectations that our heat wave will continue into the weekend, we will not be enforcing the cowboy dress code.  We want everyone to have a good time and stay safe, so dress to be cool and comfortable!  Guess we could consider this an unofficial “underwear shoot”!!

Hope to see y’all out on the range!!

June Match Rescheduled

Thanks to all who gave their opinions on rescheduling next month’s match.  So far with the replies we’ve received, it’s been unanimous to change the match dates to Saturday and Sunday, June 27th & 28th.  All other details remain the same as follows:

We will be having a “double header” weekend - two matches over two days!  The first match will be Saturday, June 27 at 4p.m.  Then on Sunday, June 28, we will shoot a second separate match at 10a.m. Match fee is $12 per day or $20 for both days; details and ammo counts will be posted on the website closer to match weekend.  And, as always, all shooters must attend the mandatory shooter's meeting prior to each match and must also be a PASA member.  Several of us will be bringing our trailers/RVs and camping out Saturday night.  There is primitive camping available at no charge.  Come on out and circle your wagons with us!   (Thanks again to Rufus for suggesting this great idea!)

Hope to see y’all out on the range!

June Match - Your Opinion Please

Howdy Pards!

Hope you all had a fun, safe holiday weekend!  Kudos to all the cowboys who made St Jude’s a huge success once again this year!

Ok, folks, we have a small dilemma.  We have had a personal commitment come up for our scheduled match weekend in June (20th-21st) and will not be able to make the shoot.  We can either reschedule the match for the following weekend (27th-28th) or someone else can step up to the plate and run the matches.  Oh, there’s always the unspoken third option of cancelling all together.   What would y’all like to do for June?  Please drop us an email with your suggestion or make a comment here on the telegraph.

May Results and News

Howdy Pards!  Thanks to everyone who joined up with our posse this month!  We had great weather and a great time!!  We’d like to welcome our two newest shooters, Sawbones Gooty and Mary!  This month’s shoot was in memory of “Peg Leg” Shannon and we were honored that Mrs. Shannon was able to attend.  EE Taft did an awesome job with the stages and designed a challenging match.  Redburns even provided a Texas Star to challenge us all a little more!  There were no sharp shooters to be found this month!    REDBURNS was our TOP GUN of the month - AGAIN!  Congrats!!  For complete results go to our website.

We're gonna try something different next month - a "double header" weekend!  We will hold two matches over two days!  The first match will be Saturday, June 20, at 4p.m.  Then on Sunday, June 21, we will shoot a second, separate match at 10a.m.  Match fee is $12 per day or $20 for both days; details and ammo counts will be posted on the website closer to match weekend.  Several of us will be bringing our trailers/RVs and camping out Saturday night.  There is primitive camping available at no charge.  Come on out and circle your wagons with us!!  (Thanks to Rufus for suggesting this great idea!!)

There are still opportunities available for those who want to  wear the match director hat for a time or two this year.  If you are interested in volunteering, just let us know.  If you don’t want to take it on all alone, grab yerself a partner and work on it together.  It’s not that difficult – and, we will do the emailing, scorekeeping, and paperwork for you!  You just design, set up, and run the stages!  (Just think of the fun you can have getting some revenge on your fellow cowboys!  The “women-folk” are a-hankerin’ to run a “Ladies Revenge” match later this year!)

Hope to see y'all out on the range!!

April Showers bring....CANCELLED Match

Well pards,  it looks like April showers not only bring May flowers but also bring cancellations to outdoor events.  The forecasts are not good for tonite and tomorrow.  70-80% chance of rain with accumulations over 1.75 inches are forecasted.  With the rain we’ve already had, the rain and mud is really squishing up ‘tween the toes!  Don’t kill the messenger – blame Beau and the other weather men!   See fer yurself here:  http://www.wgem.com/Global/link.asp?L=318585 and here too:  http://www.accuweather.com/us/il/barry/62312/forecast-details.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=1&zipChg=1&metric=0&fday=2

Shoot or no shoot, we still need to tear down the stage fronts though in preparation for the Single Stack.  Nitro Pike and Newsome will be braving the rain out at the range at 830am tomorrow (Sunday) to get the job done.  If anyone can run out and help, they would be mighty obliged.

Next month’s shoot will be the Peg Leg Shannon Memorial shoot with EE Taft as match director.  More details to follow as we get them.

The Illinois Quail Unlimited Midwest Class is next weekend, April 24-26th at the World Shooting Complex in Sparta, IL.  This is an awesome shoot run by awesome people!!   Lots of side matches (including a Wild Bunch match) and a Dooley Gang Shooting School on Friday, 6 stages, banquet, and auction on Saturday, and the final 4 stages on Sunday.  You can’t ask for much better than that!  You don’t want to miss this one!!  More info can be found at:  http://www.midwestclassic-iqu.com/

Hope to see y'all in Sparta next weekend!  Until then...keep yer powder dry!!
